market researchThe global market for C4ISR – short for command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance — is forecast to become a $133 billion industry by 2020, new research from ReportsnReports says.

The market analysts said Monday that it expects the segment, currently valued at $102 billion, to have a compound annual growth rate of 4.52 percent from 2014.

It identified unmanned vehicles and software-defined radio as probable main focus areas during the period, and heightened demand from emerging economies for electronic warfare and national command and control systems, sensor udates, space capability and networked communications.

ReportsnReports also highlighted an increasing interest in electro optic systems in the ISR field, particularly in surveillance, as the technology widens its reach in applications for both land and naval platforms.
