Elbit Systems of America has been awarded a $106 million contract to upgrade four Grumman C-1A aircraft for Brazil’s navy.
The company will upgrade the aircraft’s engine, avionics, communication and ECS technologies and air-to-air refueling system, Elbit Systems of America said Tuesday.
Elbit Systems of America will perform work for five years at the San Antonio, Texas-based facilities of its M7 Aerospace subsidiary.
“We are pleased to upgrade the Brazilian Navy’s aircraft,” said Raanan Horowitz, Elbit Systems of America’s president and CEO.
The Grumman C-1A aircraft will be used in the Brazilian naval aircraft carrier Nae Sao Paulo, designated as KC-2 COD/AAR, when Elbit Systems of America completes the upgrade.
