Laurent Philonenko has been promoted to senior vice president of corporate strategy and development and chief technology officer at Avaya.
The 15-year technology veteran specializes in communications software, leading growth strategies at Cisco, Genesys and Alcatel prior to his arrival at Avaya, the company said Wednesday.
In his new role, Philonenko will focus on strategy execution and development, and oversee Avaya Labs Research and the Avaya DevConnect marketplace for developers and technology partners.
He will also be the chief moderator of other programs involving architecture and consulting groups.
“Laurent is a recognized leader and proven visionary in enterprise collaboration and communications,†Avaya CEO Kevin Kennedy said.
“His experience and years in the industry have given him a unique understanding of our customers’ evolving business needs and how they align with opportunities available through technological innovation.”
Philonenko graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Paris University, and holds several patents in the United States.
