Infosys and Unisys are set to sign a memorandum of understanding with the government of New South Wales in Australia for the implementation of shared services across state agencies.
Dominic Perrottet, NSW minister for finance and services, said in an announcement posted Wednesday that the government has selected the two companies to deliver shared services in areas such as human resources and finance.
“The establishment of a memorandum of understanding provides a certainty to clients, as well as staff, as it creates a clear pathway for the future transition of services next year,” he said.
ServiceFirst currently provides shared services for NSW government clients, including the treasury and planning offices.
The notice stated that the parties expect to sign the MOU by next week, while final arrangements are scheduled for April 2015.
“Once we transition to the new delivery model it is hoped that there will be greater consistency for shared services across the sector, as the new service providers will have performance and delivery benchmarks built into their contracts,” Perrottet added.
