FireEye is tracking a threat group that targets insider information of companies in order to take advantage of stock prices.
The FIN4 group aims to obtain access to the emails of C-level executives, legal counsel, regulatory, risk and compliance personnel, FireEye said Sunday.
FireEye said the group has targeted healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies and advisory firms since mid 2013.
“We’ve been able to characterize FIN4’s activity via our incident response engagements, FIN4’s attempts to compromise our managed service clients, our product detection data, and further independent research,” the company added.
FireEye says it will help organizations detect FIN4 activity through newly-released indicators.
