Phil-Freedenberg_SAP_EMPhil Freedenberg has been vice president of business development at SAP National Security Services — or SAP NS2 — since 2011 and has served in leadership roles at SAP since 2007 over areas such as strategic account management in both the aerospace and defense sectors.

Prior to SAP, the 25-year industry veteran helped to develop the aerospace and defense practice at KPMG/BearingPoint.

He was managing director and partner of business’ defense OEM, where he worked to build partnerships with technology providers, systems integrators, and government customers.

Earlier in his career at KPMG, Freedenberg served as business financial manager for an ACT-I weapon systems program and as a strategic adviser to the chief information officer at Naval Air Systems Command.

Previously, Freedenberg was director of BD and marketing for a business unit at Eastman Kodak Company and also helped launch a startup business inside the multinational company.

Freedenberg started his professional career as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.

As a naval aviator, he flew assault support missions during Marine Expeditionary Unit deployments, and served in various maintenance and quality assurance leadership roles.

He is a 1987 graduate from the University of Rochester and went on to earn his master’s degree in business from Boston University in 1995.
