The Defense Information Systems Agency is studying the market for vendors that can process and aggregate open source data for the agency’s Information Volume and Velocity portfolio.
In a sources sought announcement posted on FedBizOpps, DISA’s Advanced Concepts and Experimentation Division said it wants to find out if there are companies with a capability to extract Internet data in Word, PDF and other formats and from different sources such as blogs, forums and news sites.
The vendor should also be able to tag formatted and unformatted personally identifiable information as well as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act data, and process any number of data requests, DISA says.
The agency said interested parties should be able to perform the work at the vendor’s location over an estimated five-year period.
DISA will accept responses to the notice until Dec. 9.
