Karen Dahut, an executive vice president at Booz Allen, has outlined several components and systems to drive innovation across an organization.
Dahut, head of Booz Allen’s strategic innovation group, authored a blueprint that highlights methods for harnessing an organization’s capabilities and developing avenues for fresh ideas, Booz Allen said Thursday.
“By taking the right steps and focusing their energies, any company can tap into the human desire to create something new,” said Dahut.
She noted that large companies will be able to grow a team of innovators and market catalysts by implementing what she calls a culture of experimentation.
Dahut also recommends that institutions develop an ecosystem of “original thought, creativity, intellectual curiosity and inclusion” and collaborate on original services in order to help drive innovation.
The blueprint is outlined in an article entitled “Who Says Big Companies Can’t Innovate?,” which Dahut presented at last week’s Chief Innovation Officer Summit in New York.
