Boeing and BlackBerry will collaborate to offer government customers an Android smartphone designed to have a tamper-proof covering and a security architecture, Bloomberg reported Saturday.

Johnsson and De Vynck write Boeing has developed a self-destruct smartphone and is testing the device with BlackBerry’s BES middleware.
The Boeing Black phone is meant to hold two SIM cards and aims to help users connect to a satellite communications network or manage power capacity through a modular expansion port.
Boeing also designed the platform to automatically delete software and data in the event of an authorized tampering, according to the report.
