Apple and IBM have partnered to offer the first batch of IBM MobileFirst for iOS applications that deliver big data and analytics functions to enterprise customers in sectors such as government whose workers use iPhone and iPad devices.
Bridget van Kralingen, senior vice president at IBM Global Business Services, said Wednesday that the collaboration works to help businesses adopt enterprise mobility technologies for individual engagement and big data.
For government customers, the Case Advice app works to to manage case workloads and provide analytics-based prioritization and the Incident Aware app is designed to link with law enforcement on crime prevention measures.
IBM and Apple also launched applications for the banking and finance industry, insurance, retail, telecommunications, travel and transportation sectors.
Other offerings from the Apple-IBM partnership include Mobile Platform and Enterprise Integration, AppleCare for the Enterprise; and supply, activate and manage functions.
