Verizon Enterprise Solutions has secured Department of Health and Human Services authorization under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program to deploy its cloud platform for the public sector.
Kevin Irland, a corporate communications manager at the company, writes Thursday that the authority to operate is for its Enterprise Cloud: Federal Edition infrastructure-as-a-service cloud offering.
The report said Verizon intends to leverage the ATO to support reforms for federal IT and help government agencies like HHS migrate operations to the cloud.
“We are seeing accelerating interest in cloud computing across our public sector business,” noted Michael Maiorana, senior vice president of public sector markets at Verizon Enterprise Solutions.
Enterprise Cloud: Federal Edition is available via the General Services Administration IT Schedule 70 vehicle and through blanket purchase agreements with the departments of Agriculture and the Interior.
Verizon said it delivers the service from data centers in Virginia and Miami that are purpose-built to support federal agencies.
