SkyLink Aviation has purchased an ownership stake in a Pakistan-based air operator that flies cargo out of its central hub at the country’s largest airport.
Galaxy Aviation, a category one air operator which calls capital city Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport home, also delivers hazardous materials, energy equipment and other goods to customers inside Pakistan and its neighboring countries.
SkyLink’s partnerships with Galaxy and with Florida-based regional charter flight provider Baer Air are part of a push to build up medium-sized, fixed-wing offerings worldwide.
Syed Irfan Ahmed, CEO of Galaxy, said the company sought SkyLink Aviation’s experience in worldwide logistics and its global reach for the partnership.
SkyLink has identified Pakistan as a main hub in South Asia and both Karachi and Lahore as key sites for its partnership with Galaxy.
“This is a very important partnership providing SkyLink a critically strategic AOC in a key hub within the region,” said David Dacquino, SkyLink CEO, who added the team’s goal is to carry out a “successful, regional cargo operation.â€
The partnership has secured a two-year cargo contract from Pakistan-based logistics and supply chain company TCS to provide scheduled service within select Pakistani cities.
SkyLink and Galaxy say they plan expand their partnership in Pakistan.
