SGI will offer its customers Seagate Technology‘s storage appliances under a reselling partnership agreement that targets academic, industry and government markets with their combined storage and high-performance computing products.
The companies said Tuesday SGI customers will have access to Seagate’s ClusterStor Secure Data Appliance, ClusterStor 1500, ClusterStor 6000 and ClusterStor 900.
Jorge Titinger, president and CEO of SGI, said he expects the partnership to help bolster system scalability, performance, ease of use and time to results.
ClusterStor works to support computing activities through the use of the Lustre parallel file system, dense data storage functions and scale-out servers, the companies said.
