SAP has launched three new products that work to leverage the computing, analytics and event processing functions of the SAP HANA Cloud Platform to support the Internet of Things.
“The Internet of Things has the potential to dramatically improve responsiveness of businesses, reimagine customer experience and open up new opportunities and brand new business models such as move from sell-to-service based models,” Bernd Leukert, executive board member of SAP products and innovation, said Tuesday.
The company announced the release of the SAP Predictive Maintenance and Service, SAP Connected Logistics and SAP Manufacturing Execution offerings at this week’s SAP TechEd && d-code conference.
SAP said it built these tools on the SAP HANA Cloud Platform to facilitate the development of IoT applications and to extract insights from collected sensor data.
SAP’s Predictive Maintenance and Service works to operations and analytics to predict system malfunctions based on historic and real-time business and technical data.
The SAP Connected Logistics product is built to monitor hub traffic and offer lean dispatching functions and SAP Manufacturing Execution is designed to help with asset management and utilization.
