Science Applications International Corp. has pledged to support Virginia Tech’s Hume Center for National Security and Technology over the next five years with a $750,000 donation.
The Hume Center conducts research, education and outreach programs to help the national security community address communication and computation challenges, SAIC said Monday.
“With this donation, SAIC will have opportunities to help mentor and assist young adults who are entering America’s workforce,” said Doug Wagoner, SAIC sector president.
“SAIC-supported initiatives will reach students in many ways, like scholarships, research programs, curriculum development, guest speakers and internships,” Wagoner added.
The donation will be funded through SAIC’s national security education program in aid of the Hume Center’s education program and intelligence community center for academic excellence.
The center provides mentorship, internships and scholarships to U.S. citizens entering federal service.
