Vista Outdoor, a sporting goods company that will spinoff from ATK, is considering several possible sites in Utah to be its global headquarters.
ATK said Thursday Vista Outdoor aims to employ as many as 5,800 workers globally and to have a manufacturing presence in approximately 10 U.S. states.
Mark DeYoung, ATK president and CEO, said the company chose Utah for Vista Outdoor’s HQ based on workforce, quality of life and market factors.
DeYoung also leads Vista Outdoor as its CEO and chairman.
Vista Outdoor will invest $10 million to establish its Utah-based headquarters and could receive up to $1,344,760 in tax incentives through the state’s Economic Development Tax Increment Finance program, according to ATK.
ATK maintains a portfolio of 30 outdoor recreation brands, including Bushnell, Savage Arms and Federal Premium.
