Harris Corp. has opened an engineering facility in Sunrise, Florida, where the company plans to develop tactical radio software for the U.S. military and clients worldwide.
Harris RF Communications will also sell its products and services to Caribbean and Latin America customers at the 19,000 square-foot site, Harris said Monday.
“Opening our new development center in Sunrise enabled us to quickly add a significant number of highly qualified engineers with expertise in advanced software defined radio waveforms,†said Dana Mehnert, group president of Harris RF Communications.
Mehnert added that the company intends to further invest in tactical radios and networking tools through the new development facility.
