Deltek‘s Ashley Bergander says that small businesses will see new business opportunities with three upcoming follow-on contracts for U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy training programs.
Bergander, a research manager at Deltek, writes in a piece published Sunday in the Washington Post that the Aircrew Training and Rehearsal Support, Counter Narcotics and Global Threats Training Support Services and Weapons and Systems Integration Support Services programs could issue solicitations by early next year.
These contracts will be restricted to small businesses and are potentially worth up to $1.6 billion combined, led by the Air Force’s ATARS at $750 million, according to Bergander.
ATARS could have a solicitation ready by February for training the crew of certain aircraft under the Air Force Special Operations Command, Special Operations Forces, Air Combat Command Personnel Recovery and other Air Force divisions.
Bergander also expects the service to issue two solicitations by January for a seven-year CN> training support services contract and a five-year WSISS contract.
