SafeNet has launched an encryption-as-a-service platform with the goal of helping cloud service providers and their enterprise customers manage data security in multitenant virtual or cloud infrastructure.
The ProtectV for Service Providers offering is designed to help organizations avoid unauthorized access to sensitive information in shared cloud environments, SafeNet said Monday.
The company also offers its EaaS to Amazon Web Services partners and for VMware-based cloud systems.
David Etue, vice president of corporate development strategy at SafeNet, said the company aims for cloud infrastructure vendors and customers to secure workloads through the new data protection service.
ProtectV is also intended for integration with IaaS offerings and offers a usage-based billing package, according to SafeNet.
The company also designed the platform to work with the firm’s other virtual and hardware key management tools and to comply with Federal Information Processing Standards.
