VerizonLogo1 EbizA new Verizon study has found that 65 percent of businesses leverage cloud computing products and services to manage their information technology infrastructure.

Kevin King, corporate communications director at Verizon Enterprise Solutions, said Tuesday the “State of the Market: Enterprise Cloud 2014” report indicates chief information officers and chief technology officers oversee about 62 percent of their organizations’ cloud system acquisitions.

Enterprise spending on cloud-based systems increased 38 percent this year compared with total cloud investments recorded a year ago, according to Kevin’s article.

Seventy-one percent of Verizon cloud clients use the technology for mission critical workloads and 84 percent of enterprise cloud users believe uptime is a key factor to consider when choosing a cloud service.

King noted that many cloud providers have launched new service offerings designed to help organizations address networking and security issues.
