CGI expects to create as many as 620 new jobs through an expansion of the company’s information technology and business process service operations in Bridgend, Wales.
The company has received $3.7 million in funding from the Welsh government to help the organization grow its local presence, according to an article published Monday on the Welsh government’s website.
“As we continue to grow our business and our clients increasingly adopt newer technologies such as cloud it is more important than ever that we can offer them a highly-skilled workforce,” said Tim Gregory, CGI president of U.K. operations.
CGI runs data centers at three sites across Bridgend and will train new and existing staff using money from the government-run Skills Growth Wales program.
The expansion would increase the number of CGI’s south Wales-based employees to 1,540.
