Bechtel is transferring several employees from its site in Frederick, Maryland, to Virginia as part of a reorganization program, the Frederick News-Post reported Tuesday.
Ed Waters Jr. writes Michelle Michael, a Bechtel spokesperson, told the newspaper the company will still have a presence in the county and the relocation will occur in phases.
The company employs approximately 1,100 workers in Frederick, according to the newspaper.
Bechtel has consolidated its power, civil engineering, aviation and railroad business units to form an infrastructure global business organization.
The company also established a subsidiary that will focus on delivering nuclear power, building security and environmental cleanup services to the government sector.
