Praescient Analytics has highlighted three ways healthcare providers could apply to efforts to stop the spread of Ebola virus.
Praescient said Wednesday that healthcare organizations could minimize the number of Ebola infections of their workers if low infection probability is factored into infection prevention protocols.
The low infection probability is based on a comparison by Brookings Institution nonresident senior fellow John Villasenor to describe the risk posed by low infection probability over time.
Praescient also recommends organizations coordinate alerts through social and traditional media in order to deliver unified global insights to healthcare workers treating Ebola patients.
The analytics firm also calls for the use of mobile technology to disseminate information to populations at risk of the Ebola virus.
“Using texts or apps allows researchers and responders to harness a powerful technological capability that is in the hands of many people the world over,” Praescient said.
