Northrop Grumman has launched a modernization offering that works to drive fuel efficiency and enable extended life for High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles, also known as Humvees.
The company said Tuesday that it collaborated with Meritor Defense and Pratt & Miller Engineering to develop the offering, which aims to achieve lower sustainment and life-cycle costs.
Jeff Wood, director of vehicle modernization at Northrop Grumman Technical Services, added that the offering leverages automotive industry technologies, system engineering and ground vehicle sustainment processes.
Northrop presented the modernization solution at a recent conference of the Association of the U.S. Army.
