Kristie Cunningham serves as senior vice president of communications at BAE Systems Inc., where she is responsible for the firm’s external and internal communications activities and leads work on communications strategies and messages across all media and distribution channels.
As a member BAE’s senior leadership team and global communications team, she directs media relations, employee engagement, marketing communications and community investment activities to shape how employees, customers and other external stakeholders view BAE.
The 20-year communications veteran joined BAE in May 2010Â as vice president of employee engagement and most recently held dual positions leading global employee engagement for both BAE Systems plc and its U.S. subsidiary BAE Systems Inc.
Prior to BAE, she served as a director of communications at Northrop Grumman and oversaw marketing communications, executive and employee communications and media relations.
Earlier in her career, Cunningham spent nearly a decade in multiple communications leadership roles at AOL, and earlier in her career held communications positions at MCI WorldCom, the Personal Communications Industry Association and the Washington Times.
Cunningham holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from James Madison University.
