David Fastabend serves as vice president of advanced information systems at Exelis and leads an organization that works on new products for customers in the defense and intelligence, air traffic management, space, earth science and homeland defense markets.
Fastabend joined the company in January 2011Â and has also served as Exelis’ director of strategic planning and technology development.
Earlier this year, the long-time Army veteran joined Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 group of public and private sector leaders that EM’s editors recognized for vision and achievement.
His Army career has included director of strategy for plans and policy and director of strategic operations for multinational coalition forces in Iraq.
The published author and registered professional engineer holds a master’s degree of military arts and sciences from the Command and General Staff College, a master’s degree in structural dynamics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Military Academy.
