Navy radarDynetics will provide hardware development support to Raytheon for the U.S. Air Force‘s Three Dimensional Expeditionary Long-Range Radar program, which will replace the current AN/TPS-75 radar system.

“We are proud to be one of Raytheon’s partners on this important project that will help protect our warfighters in the field,” Greg Lester – executive vice president for defense, space and intelligence programs at Dynetics – said Wednesday.

David King, Dynetics president, said work will primarily take place at the company’s headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama.

According to Dynetics, 3DELRR will work to detect and monitor potential threats such as missiles, drones and other aircraft.

Raytheon won the prime contract to engineer, manufacture and develop 3DELRR for the Air Force.
