IBM has released a criminal investigation software tool that works to uncover cyber crime through analysis of huge volumes of data from multiple sources and find both correlations and connections between data.
“While most organizations understand how big data can help prevent the ever increasing threat of cybercrime, they are so overwhelmed by massive data volumes that they can’t act fast enough to turn it into meaningful intelligence to stop criminals,” Bob Griffin, IBM i2 general manager for threat and counter fraud, said Monday.
The i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis offering targets “weak-signal” relationships between data from sources such as social media and corporate records to discover the source and development of a cyber attack, IBM said.
The company added that EIAÂ has visual analytics and interoperability functions; a modular, scalable architecture; and out-of-the-box functionality.
