The Human Resources Association of the National Capital Region has released new data that indicates demand for employees with security clearances dropped in 2014, The Washington Post reported Sunday.
Aaron Gregg writes the HRA-NCA report also suggests the number of contractors offering pay differentials for security-cleared personnel could decline to 37 percent in 2014 from the 72 percent recorded in 2010.
“The government is doing a better job of processing these clearances in a timely manner, and now there are more people with clearances. Maybe too many,†Alan Chvotkin, vice president of the Professional Services Council, told the Post.
Gregg writes business executives attribute the fall in demand to sequestration and furloughs in 2013 and a saturated pool of employees with security clearances.
