A new report from ABI Research outlines market demand for cybersecurity tools from Internet of Things users in areas such as consumer privacy and data protection.
The market intelligence firm said Friday that current product development requirements and the consideration between cost and risk for connected “things” will drive the market.
“Embedded security, trusted computing, security protocols—these are all fledgling areas of product development for the IoT and manufacturers are still trying to find their feet and justify investment in secure design, development, and product lifecycle,” said Michela Menting, cybersecurity practice director at ABI Research.
The “Cybersecurity Technologies Market Research” report also names Arrayent, Hewlett-Packard, Microchip, NXP Semiconductors, Sonatype and Wind River as emerging companies in the IoT security market.
