Rockwell Collins‘ subsidiary in Brazil will expand its aircraft service center in Sao Jose dos Campos to support the company’s entry into new markets in the region, said Managing Director Nelson Aquino.
“This expansion will bring new engineering and service capabilities to our customers in the region and will enable Rockwell Collins do Brazil to pursue and capture more commercial and military programs,” Aquino said Thursday.
The company will start work on the expansion within the year to continue support for Rockwell Collins do Brazil’s 40-year investment in the region and aim to bolster its presence in the country’s defense market.
The Sao Jose dos Campos facility’s offerings include avionics and aircraft systems and communications and electronics systems.
Rockwell Collins said it increased its Brazilian workforce by 50 percent over three years by hiring new service technicians, engineers, program managers and business development professionals to serve aircraft operators and manufacturers such as Embraer and Helibras.
