electronic health record EHRHarris Corp. collaborated with eClinicalWorks to implement a unified cloud-based electronic health records infrastructure for 23 detention facilities run by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

The companies deployed the eClinicalWorks-based EHR system with the goal of helping ICE Health Service Corps integrate and exchange medical data of detainees across different locations, eClinicalWorks said Tuesday.

According to eClinicalWorks, the platform is designed to operate with medical laboratory, radiology and pharmacy systems.

The team also intends for the agency’s medical professionals to use the technology to manage health screening during intake, drug administration and hospital care.

Melbourne, Florida-based Harris is the prime contractor on ICE’s EHR modernization.
