The Bavarian state police agency in Germany plans to adopt SAP technology to help manage operations that oversee a 41,000-strong workforce dedicated to road safety maintenance and security, crime prevention and response, and other police work.
SAP said Sept. 9 that Polizei Bayern has chosen the company to build a platform with the SAP Investigation Management for Public Sector and SAP HANA platforms for statewide deployment on premises, in the cloud and as a managed service.
Polizei Bayern wants the integrated policing platform to consolidate incident, investigation and intelligence management that works to streamline data bases and speed up analysis for police officials.
SAP said it aims to take Germany’s data privacy laws into consideration and help ensure that safety and security protocols are employed when accessing, managing and transmitting records in house or between agencies.
