Joe Ciano serves as vice president for capture operations and excellence at Lockheed Martin’s information systems & global solutions (IS&GS) organization.
In this role, he is responsible for new business capture, major program new business pursuits, financial strategies, proposal operations and competitive intelligence for an $8.3 billion business area serving government and commercial customers worldwide.
Prior to this position, Ciano was VP of business development & strategy for Lockheed Martin’s IS&GS-Civil.
His 14 years with Lockheed Martin also included leadership positions with IS&GS-Â National, IS&GS-Defense, IS&GS Global and LM Information Technology (LMIT).
At LMIT, he helped grow the organization from $100 million to more than $1.1 billion in annual revenues. His business development teams have won new business with defense, civil, intelligence, international and commercial customers.
Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, Joe served as director of BD for national security programs at MicroStrategy and as a senior account executive at HP (formerly EDS) for government programs.
Ciano retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 2008 as a Lieutenant Colonel with more than 20 years of service.
His Bachelor of Science Degree is from the U.S. Naval Academy, and his Master of Science is from the Naval Post Graduate School.
