ContractsThe Defense Information Systems Agency will begin the process for awarding contracts under the third-generation ENCORE information technology services vehicle in fiscal 2015, Deltek‘s Alex Rossino reported Tuesday.

Rossino, a Deltek principal research analyst, estimates that defense agencies invested approximately $5.8 billion in IT offerings through the second ENCORE iteration.

His analysis of the ENCORE II customer base indicates that DISA organizations have been the top spenders on the program at $5 billion, followed by the Army at $233 million and the U.S. Transportation Command at $140 million.

On the vendor side, Northop Grumman booked $1.4 billion in IT services orders from defense customers, Raytheon won $402 million and Computer Sciences Corp. was awarded $386 million in task orders, according to Rossino.

He predicts DISA would see an increase in vehicle usage in the coming fiscal years.

“Encore III is expected to receive even heavier use, particularly since DISA officials have emphasized the coming consolidation of services contracts that are deemed duplicative,” he stated.
