CellAntenna, a systems integrator for L-3 Communications‘ Linkabit division, has unveiled a new cell phone threat control system that is designed to monitor and control cellular signals in stealth mode for law enforcement tactical operations.
CellAntenna said Wednesday that CPC-Vulcan supports the company’s Guardian Service system, which prisons use to control the use of cell phones at the facilities.
Howard Melamed, CellAntenna president and CEO, said CPC-Vulcan can help first responders in their mission against threats that could result from illegal use of cell phones.
CPC-Vulcan works to secure cell phones or entire locations without jamming, implement managed access/denial of service and support baggage screenings and countersurveillance activities, CellAntenna said.
The company noted that it integrates Linkabit’s WideFire cellular exploitation technology that works to detect and identify unauthorized handsets.
