The U.S. Navy has awarded Serco -Inc. a one-year, $9 million contract to provide integration and maintenance services for the military’s fleet of mine-resistant ambush protected vehicles.
Serco will work with the Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Command to maintain command, control, communications, computers and intelligence systems on the armored fighting vehicles, Serco said Tuesday.
The company will also help Army, Marines and Air Force personnel sustain MRAPs that have been deployed in Afghanistan, Qatar, Kuwait and United Arab Emirates.
MRAPs are built with technology that works to protect warfighters against improvised explosive device threats and attacks, according to Serco.
