Northrop Grumman continues to support incoming college students who intend to pursue science and math degrees by awarding two new grant recipients during the company’s 10th Engineering Scholars Program ceremony.
Graduating seniors Rick Hallman from Prospect High School and Nicholas Ratajczyk from William Fremd High School became the latest to receive $10,000 merit scholarships from Northrop Grumman for their academic and community accomplishments, Northrop said Thursday.
Hallman, a programmer with an interest in robotics, will take up computer science at the University of Illinois.
Ratajczyk, a student and athlete who is also active as a student ambassador, will also attend the same school in the fall, majoring in electrical engineering.
“These well-rounded students have incredible test scores and high grade point averages, but they’re also involved with other aspects of their school and community,†said Jeff Palombo, Northrop Grumman vice president and general manager of the Rolling Meadows-based Land and Self Protection Systems Division.
He added, “We look forward to watching them continue to excel in school and in life.”
