Amazon Web Services and XO Communications have extended their AWS Direct Connect agreement to provide network connectivity for access to cloud at speeds of 50 to 500 megabits, adding to the current service supporting speeds of 1 to 10 gigabits.
“Companies of all sizes are now looking for reliable, more secure access to cloud resources through direct connections to AWS,” Nicola Jackson, XO Communications vice president for products and marketing, said Monday.
XO expects to integrate its Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network technology with dedicated access to AWS’ cloud solutions to enable network connections beyond the public Internet.
