Lockheed Martin has partnered with aerospace services firm SGT to provide NASA mission planning and flight operations support for the International Space Station and Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle programs.
Under the integrated mission operations contract, Lockheed will help NASA train flight controllers and crews, as well as prepare and execute missions at the agency’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, the company said Monday.
Lockheed will also deliver ground-based support work for the Orion crew exploration vehicle.
“Together with SGT, we can apply resources and experience to ensure we are advancing NASA’s mission through IMOC II,” said Rick Hieb, vice president for exploration and mission support at Lockheed’s information systems and global solutions unit.
Lockheed has been working with NASA to store and maintain supplies for the ISS personnel’s research activities.
The company also provides engineering, scientic and technical services at JSC.
