F-35BRF Controls LLC announced recently it received a contract from Lockheed Martin to install an antenna system to track assets for Lockheed’s Lightning II program.

The $400,000 contract, according to RF Control officials, is one of many task orders to come.

RF Controls commercializes on its “smart antenna” systems that possess a spread of wireless communications applications, including the ability to read passive radio frequency identification (RFID) tags from a distance.

CEO Tom Ellinwood said that the company’s technology will “change the way vendors track objects in the manufacturing process.”

Ellinwood adds that the company has been working on this technology for the majority of the past decade, predicting $2 million in revenue by the end of this year.
