Elbit Systems of America has delivered new technologies for avionics systems to Lockheed Martin for F-16 fighter jets in an effort to integrate the aircraft’s configurations.
The U.S. subsidiary of Elbit Systems delivered the center pedestal display and a new common data entry electronics unit to Lockheed’s F-16 Systems Integration Lab as part of F-16’s redesign project,  Elbit Systems of America said Tuesday.
“Many of our engineers are current or recent F-16 operators and maintainers,” said Raanan Horowitz, president and CEO of Elbit Systems of America.
“(We) provide F-16 avionics such as the Display Generator, Stores Management System, Color Multi-Function Displays, Center Pedestal Displays, Up Front Controls Processors, Mission Computers, Head Up Displays, Electronic Warfare Solutions, and Interference Blanker Units,” Horowitz said.
Elbit Systems of America worked to combine the CPD with an air data module in order for the display to work with the F-16 infrastructure.
Users of the display system will be able to view high-resolution imagery and gain situational awareness, Elbit Systems of America says.
