PhilipsLogoPhilips is making use of a new management structure in the Healthcare sector to improve performance and response to dynamic customer demands.

According to the company, Healthcare CEO Deborah DiSanzo has decided to leave Philips to pursue other opportunities and healthcare business groups will report directly to the new Philips CEO, Frans van Houten.

“We anticipate performance in healthcare to improve–our Healthcare business represents more than 40% of the revenue of Philips and is at the heart of Philips’ mission to deliver meaningful innovation to improve people’s lives,” said van Houten.

“Today’s announcement is an example of how we are taking decisive action to improve our performance and competitiveness, and demonstrates our relentless commitment to quality and meaningful innovation that meet the needs of our customers.”

Van Houten said global health care industry is undergoing a “paradigm shift” thus providing Philips with opportunities to deliver integrated systems to those who need it in hospitals and medical institutions.

Philips plans to form multi-year partnerships with businesses in the healthcare industry and plans to work with with New Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden.
