Northrop Grumman CEO Wes Bush has urged acquisition officials to be more open to new ways of completing mission tasks, the Washington Post reported Tuesday.
Amrita Jayakumar writes that Bush believes public procurement professionals should have flexibility in a domain where they are asked to do more with less.
“The predicate of negotiating a good contract must be the realization that one size does not fit all,†Bush was quoted as saying to an audience at the National Contract Management Association World Congress.
He said that approach is already seen at his company, where “fully empowered†representatives are sent to broker the deal.
Bush also called on participants to enhance intellectual property rights management and backed wider efforts to adopt open systems in a move to adopt new technologies in government.
