wireless-communicationsMutualink has received a certification from the Defense Department for the company’s radio and multimedia communications interoperability offerings.

DoD has added the Joint Interoperability Test Command-certified Mutualink interoperable multimedia gateway offerings to its products list for all defense services and agencies, Mutualink said Monday.

“Obtaining this certification required that we meet the most stringent standards of cyber security and information assurance while simultaneously providing specific operational requirements for the warfighter,” said Joe Mazzarella, senior vice president of Mutualink.

Clients are able to interconnect radios, telephony and mobile phones, as well as share video, text, file, and data communications across disparate agency networks in a secured environment, the company says.

DoD issued the three-year certification under its unified capabilities requirements and the U.S. Marine Corps sponsored the accreditation.

The Marine Corps uses Mutualink’s offerings to communicate, coordinate and perform command functions with allies.
