Microsoft is using open-source innovation hosting portals CodePlex and GitHub to share some of the firm’s software codes with the public, Nextgov reported Wednesday.
Nikhil Sonnad writes that Microsoft provides developers access to its TypeScript programming language through Github and publishes OSS projects on the company-operated CodePlex site.
The software company wrote on its Github account that “Microsoft has changed as a company and is becoming more open in the way that we collaborate with others.”
Github also features Microsoft’s MS Open Tech subsidiary and Azure cloud computing platform, according to Nextgov.
