CAE has secured four training systems contracts totaling $103.3 million from global defense clients, as group president for defense and security Gene Colabatistto reiterates the company’s focus on its integrated training solutions portfolio.
The company said Wednesday its new contracts are to provide or upgrade training and visual systems for the New Zealand, German and Iraqi air force, as well as an undisclosed customer.
Beechcraft Defense Company contracted CAE to supply the New Zealand air force with a T-6C ground-based training system, including operational flight trainers, customized pilot training courseware and a computer-based classroom training system, by 2015.
The contract includes on-site maintenance and training support services at RNZAF Base Ohakea through CAE New Zealand, the company said.
Meanwhile, the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support in Germany tasked CAE to modernize the visual systems of the Eurofighter simulators used by the country’s air force, including installation of the CAE Medallion-6000 image generator.
Korea Aerospace Industries also chose the CAE Medallion-6000 to supplement its T-50IQ simulator contracted by the Iraqi air force, and tapped CAE to provide integration and training support and a database modeling station.
Finally, the undisclosed international client ordered CAE’s KC-135 boom operator weapon systems trainer.
