Booz Allen Hamilton Vice President Tim Andrews and Principal Joachim Roski have written an article for the Health Affairs journal discussing potential health policy changes to address big data’s opportunities and challenges in the industry.
The company said Tuesday “Creating Value in Health Care Through Big Data: Opportunities and Policy Implications” appears in the journal’s July issue, with Alvarez & Marsal‘s George Bo-Linn contributing to the article.
“It can be argued that the field of healthcare has been slower to adopt large-scale data integration, but there are also massive amounts of untapped, emerging health-related data that are ripe for analysis,” said Roski.
He mentioned the IT infrastructure and data sharing and privacy policy changes as some of the challenges facing the implementation of big data technology.
Roski will represent Booz Allen at a related National Press Club event this week titled “Using Big Data to Transform Care,” with other contributors to the Health Affairs July issue and industry leaders participating in the event.
