medalsExelis has received a processor qualification designation from Boeing for a composite design and manufacturing center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Exelis said it went through a  technical review through Boeing specifications and had to demonstrate both process controls and manufacturing capabilities.

Mike Blair, vice president and general manager of Exelis Aerostructures, said his company finished the qualification process in less than a year.

“Achieving this rigorous Boeing qualification underlines our commitment to providing the highest quality composite structures at the greatest value to our customers,” said Blair.

“This designation is an important milestone as we continue to expand our commercial aerostructures business.”
