VMware has introduced an analytics system for healthcare industry customers to gather and analyze electronic medical records data, InformationWeek reported Friday.
Charles Babcock writes the Care Systems Analytics technology is built to work with the Epic electronic medical records system in exchanging patient data.
The company adapted its vCenter Operations Manager to collect data from Epic for analysis and display the information on a dashboard, according to the report.
Drew Koerner, chief healthcare services architect at VMware, said the company’s professionals within the vCloud for Health Care Solutions unit are working to monitor record queries, examine behaviors and assign response time thresholds using the vCenter Operations Manager, the report says.
Koerner added that the Intersystems Cache database system is also being used to handle patient information, according to Information Week.
VMware plans to adjust the vCloud for Health Care Solutions in order to consolidate results from the VMware Log Insight server for further system performance analysis, InformationWeek reports.
